Earlier this term Year 5s and year 6s went to camp! It was awesome, many of activities were there. It was so exciting there, we couldn’t stop imagining things. We had to go in our cabins and prepare our beds. My bunk bed buddies were Eliezer , Tauni and Nathaniel. When we were done preparing our beds we would meet in the hall to meet up with our activity buddies. My activity buddies were Leona , Tauni , Mmily , Dija , and Malia and Khadija and Amelia. Our first activity was Confidence Course it was fun and challenging, Ms Alano was supporting us to keep trying. It was very challenging at first but if you keep on trying and trying it wont be that hard. Something i enjoyed was trying out all the activities. But the challenging thing was steep gully. It was a activity where you had to travel through woods and steep hills and make it to the end. It was very scary because we were really secured we might fall down or slip.

Last term we learnt about making films and taking shots. We also learnt about holding cameras and making 3 minute movies. Sometimes we had many videos of laughing and giggling but we were able to take our time and get some good films. We also made a lot of shots included in our films to make it interesting. It also took a lot of time just to make good films because people might be talking or moving in the background. Sometimes we also had to move to different type of places around the school to film our parts of the movie. People in some groups had technical difficulties with the camera man because he could mess around with the camera when were filming. Some feedback on when your making your film make sure to speak as loud as you can for the people to see.

Today we are learning about using similes and metaphors into a story. We are not allowed to describe ourselves.

Sun, hot like a microwave. Trees and leaves are beautiful as a princess. 

Sea is wailing like a whale under the water. , sand is soft as a pillow when we lie down.

Leaves moving like the sea as wind blows by, Rocks were hard as concrete.

People swim like dolphins .Blue sea is like the blue sky under our heads. 

The sand is a golden blanket and the beach is a bathtub. 

The beach is like a water cooler in the fridge. People jumping from the cliffs like a surfer as we watch.

I enjoyed Making similes and metaphors into a sentence.

Today we had the chance to take on the Ako Hiko Coding Challenge!I really enjoyed experiencing the Coding Challenge. I decided to do something challenging and I did minecraft. I chose to learn more about Minecraft and get the time to play it. It was kinda challenging to put the tools in the game because i didn’t know what was gonna happen if i put it on the toolkit. I was gonna play scratch but it was to challenging for me so i picked Minecraft.  It was too difficult to keep up with the instructions because it would get my brain confused. It was getting harder and harder every level i go on because the instructions would get hard. I was on level 8 but i couldn’t complete it in time.
